Birthday Card for a Birthday Girl

I know you've heard me go on and on about my Silhouette. But can I just talk about another feature that I love?

I'm sure there is a fancy name for this, which I don't know, but I love the ability to put any text into any shape. Meaning, if I have a circle, or a heart, or in this case a giant number 3, I can put my text in such a way that it goes around the outline of that shape.

This is the technique I used to make Mady's birthday card. I know that if there is one thing kids love, it's to see their name on something. If there's something else they love, it's to see their age on birthday cards. So why not combine them?

I used coloured strips in behind to add some fun-factor on the white card.

What do you think? Will the birthday girl love it as much as her mom?

ps- I went a little crazy when I first discovered the ability to do this. If you don't know how, it's pretty simple. Just select the wording (double click on it and you'll see a little circle with a plus of arrows in it). Click on that symbol and drag it onto the shape. It will kind of "leap" onto the shape and you can adjust as necessary. It will make sense if you just do it. So much fun! Don't get too carried away. I think I used this technique for about 4 different things the night I discovered it. Make sure you check which lines are set to cut as the shape itself will not be cut.
