Birthday Hair Bows

What's a birthday without hair bows? Well, actually we'll probably soon find out because Kate hates wearing things in her hair (this totally makes me sad since she actually HAS hair).

But I decided to go ahead and make a matching bow for her dress just in case and/or because we need more variety in our bow collection (I fully plan on spending a week making a bunch of hair crap this summer). Since my niece will also have a matching dress I made her a bow too.

I followed this tutorial for making them. I traced around the top and bottom of an old-style ikea cup (from the children's area - circa 2001, you know, when they had the flower-shaped plates and the cups and bowls were actually round...)

I topped them off with a button from my stash. And voila!

I think it will look so cute with her dress, don't you think?
